UT Southern Students
Students must complete the Summer Housing Application at least 14 days before their requested move-in date. Please note that Dining facilities are closed throughout the summer.
- Spring Transition ($100) – May 7-May 14
- Summer Session 1 ($600) – May 15-June 24
- Summer Session 2 ($600) – June 25-August 5
- Fall Transition ($100) – August 6-August 18
Cost: Summer housing fees, regardless of location, are $600 per session. Students enrolled in 9+ hours of summer coursework at the University receive a 50% discount for summer sessions. For Transition periods, summer housing fees are $100. Fees are added to the student’s summer bill, and should be paid through the Bursar’s Office. Students should work with Financial Aid if aid is needed.
Move In: All move ins must occur Monday-Friday during business hours (9am – 5pm). Students should complete the Room Clearance Form within 12 hours of checking in.
Assignments: Residents typically reside in their housing for the upcoming fall. Should the resident be assigned to a traditional residential hall, or living off campus in the fall, they will usually be assigned to another community for the summer sessions.
Policies: Residents should be aware that the Housing Handbook for 2022-2023 will be applicable for Summer 2023. Residents are responsible for knowing the content of the Housing Handbook, including the special notes for summer residents.
Limited housing is available for community members and guests for extended rental periods. Individuals should apply online, and the Office of Campus Event Services will be in touch regarding availability and fees.
Individual housing fees, regardless of location, are $100 per week, or $400 per month. (Dates for this summer are below.) Payment in full must be made at least 5 business days prior to check in. Failure to meet requirements may result in cancellation of the reservation.
Guests are subject to UT Southern’s Housing Handbook and Facility Usage for Authorized Events Policy.
Summer 2023 Dates
Groups wishing to house participants are welcome to reserve residential facilities through through the Office of Campus Event Services. Requests must be submitted at least 14 business days prior to the desired check in date, but groups are encouraged to make reservations in advance.
A deposit of 25% of the estimated rental fees must be paid to secure the reservation. Payment in full must be made at least 10 business days prior to check in. Failure to meet requirements may result in cancellation of the reservation.
All groups are subject to UT Southern’s Facility Usage for Authorized Events Policy.
Summer Resident Assistants
Summer Resident Assistants keep our campus facilities running throughout May-August. They oversee all check in and check out processes, respond to emergencies, and support summer residents as needed. Summer RA’s also assist across campus in an office assistant role for 200 hours.
To apply for an Summer RA position for 2023, students should complete the Summer RA Application. Applications open March 1 and close on March 24. Interviews will take place March 27-30.
