Why Public Health at UT Southern?
As the first undergraduate public health education program in the UT system, UT Southern stands at the forefront of healthcare education. Designed to address critical healthcare challenges, UT Southern’s Bachelor of Science in Public Health Education program equips students to address disparities in health education and resource utilization. With a focus on evidence-based research and policy development, you’ll learn to shape practices that respect and respond to the diverse needs of communities.
Upon graduation, you’ll find a range of career opportunities awaiting you. Public Health Education majors can pursue roles within healthcare systems, schools, government health departments, insurance companies, and community agencies. Whether you serve close to home or in larger metropolitan areas, your expertise will be in demand.
At UT Southern, we place a strong emphasis on practical experience and engagement. Students in our program participate in the Public Health Education Capstone course, which includes 135 hours of field experience. This hands-on learning opportunity allows you to apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings, preparing you to excel in your future career with confidence.
Additionally, our Health Sciences Association provides a vibrant campus community at UT Southern. Here, students can engage with peers and professionals alike, enhancing their educational experience and networking opportunities. You’ll find a warm and welcoming environment that will make your educational journey even more exciting.
