Our Commitment to Affordability
We’re proud to offer a high-quality education, with all of the benefits of a small private school at the affordable price of a public university. We’re committed to providing access to UT Southern for all students, working with you to see how we can help make a college education possible. Our financial aid team can help walk you through the process, step-by-step.
The UT Promise: Free Tuition for Qualifying Students
We’re committed to providing access to all – and for many Tennessee residents, that means the guarantee of a free education. The UT Promise scholarship provides free tuition and mandatory fees for those who meet specific criteria.
Steps to Understand Cost
UT Southern is free for many to attend and affordable for all that choose to attend. We accomplish this by providing transparent cost information, financial aid for those who qualify through FAFSA, and support from our helpful financial aid staff.
1. Know the Cost of Attendance
We’re committed to helping make college accessible for all UT Southern students. To help accomplish this, we keep costs transparent. In order to make college affordable, it’s important to first understand the basic costs of tuition, fees, and housing.
- TUITION AND FEES
Approximately $10,200 per year - RESIDENTIAL DORMS & MEALS
Approximately $9,500 per year depending on housing and meal plan choices - RESIDENTIAL APARTMENTS & SINGLE ROOMS
$10,000 per year (Meal plan included)
2. Complete the FAFSA
The Federal Application for Student Aid is a critical component of understanding what aid you qualify for, and what package we can offer you. For many Tennessee students, the FAFSA deadline is April 15th, 2024.
3. Use the Net Price Calculator
The net price calculator asks you questions about academics and financial circumstances, in order to give you our best estimate of your potential cost of attendance. Use our tool to see what college might cost you, and start planning for your future.
