Pulaski, TN — The University of Tennessee Southern and the City of Pulaski are pleased to announce the official opening of the D. Ann Neville Tennis Complex at Magazine Road Park. The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place today, September 5, 2024, at 1:30 pm, with dignitaries including Mayor JJ Brindley, Vice Mayor Ricky Keith, Alderman Pat Miles, Alderman Jerry Bryant, Alderman Larry Worsham, City Administrator Terry Harrison, representatives from the Giles County Chamber of Commerce, and Ann Neville, the longtime Dean of Students during the Martin Methodist College era, in attendance.
The D. Ann Neville Tennis Complex, named in honor of Dean Neville in recognition of her generous gift to help fund this important project, marks a major milestone for both the campus and the Pulaski community. The new facility is the result of a successful partnership between UT Southern and the City of Pulaski, who together refurbished and expanded the existing city tennis courts. UT Southern funded the addition of two new courts and contributed to the overall renovation of the complex, while the City of Pulaski made necessary updates to the four existing courts. With six courts now available, the facility enhances the university’s athletic programs and offers the community greater access to a high-quality space for recreational tennis.
“The opening of the D. Ann Neville Tennis Complex represents a significant step forward for both our campus and the City of Pulaski,” said Dr. Linda C. Martin, Interim Chancellor, UT Southern. “This project is a testament to what we can achieve when we work together toward a common goal. We are deeply grateful to the City of Pulaski and to everyone who made this facility possible. It will benefit our students, athletes, and the local community for many years to come.”
Thursday’s celebration reflects the spirit of collaboration between UT Southern and the City of Pulaski, reinforcing a shared commitment to providing valuable amenities that enhance the quality of life in our community.
