This program is perfect for students who want to bridge different fields, whether combining education with psychology or merging arts with business. Within this program, you’ll have the opportunity to choose two focus areas from a range of disciplines, including Business, Education, Arts & Humanities, Nursing & Health Sciences, Math & Science, and Social Science. This structure allows you to dive deep into your chosen fields and equips you with a well-rounded education. Throughout your studies, you’ll develop critical thinking, effective communication, and a lifelong love for learning—crucial skills employers highly value in today’s competitive job market.

Your journey includes a robust curriculum featuring essential courses such as General Psychology and a Senior Capstone experience, where you’ll synthesize your knowledge and defend your work in an oral presentation to campus community members. With small class sizes, you’ll receive individualized attention from dedicated faculty, ensuring you are supported every step of the way. You’ll also have opportunities for internships and special projects that will enrich your learning and prepare you for your future career. Also, choosing a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies includes foreign language coursework, while pursuing a BS entails studying Computer Literacy.

Every student majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies will work closely with the Director of Academic Advising and the department chairs to create a personalized plan of study. It’s a good idea to have this plan finalized by the end of your second semester as a junior. If you’re focusing on Education or Nursing, please know you’ll need to be admitted to those programs before diving into upper-level classes. For some disciplines, students must fulfill all prerequisite requirements to take the upper-level coursework.

A Word About Minors
