Also, choosing a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies includes foreign language coursework, while pursuing a BS entails studying Computer Literacy.
Every student majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies will work closely with the Director of Academic Advising and the department chairs to create a personalized plan of study. It’s a good idea to have this plan finalized by the end of your second semester as a junior. If you’re focusing on Education or Nursing, please know you’ll need to be admitted to those programs before diving into upper-level classes. For some disciplines, students must fulfill all prerequisite requirements to take the upper-level coursework.
Graduates of the Interdisciplinary Studies program find themselves well-prepared for a wide array of careers. Whether you aspire to work in education, health services, business management, social work, or pursue graduate studies, your interdisciplinary training will provide a strong foundation. Many alumni have successfully secured positions in their fields before graduation, thanks to the program’s focus on real-world applications and networking opportunities.
A Word About Minors
While an Interdisciplinary Studies minor is not possible, you could complement your Interdisciplinary Studies major with a minor in another field. Reach out to a program coordinator for more information.
