Last week, UT Southern’s own Dr. Stanton Belford and Dr. M. Mae Decker were honored at the University of Tennessee President’s Awards Luncheon, held in conjunction with the OneUT Cabinet meeting.

Dr. Belford received the President’s Award for Embrace Diversity (Faculty Award), recognizing his commitment to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment that embraces the unique perspectives of all students, faculty, and staff. Dr. Decker, recently retired chair of the Travis School of Nursing & Health Sciences, received the President’s Award for United and Connected (Faculty Award), honoring her efforts to build relationships, strengthen collaboration, and advance a sense of community across the UT System.
The luncheon brought together award recipients from across the UT System to be recognized by President Randy Boyd and their respective Chancellors for their extraordinary contributions to the University’s mission and the state of Tennessee.
Dr. Belford and Dr. Decker joined their fellow honorees in receiving their awards in person and viewing the congratulatory video messages recorded by each Chancellor, including one from former Interim UT Southern Chancellor Dr. Linda C. Martin. Chancellor Melinda Arnold was in attendance to personally celebrate their achievements alongside UT System leaders.

Congratulations again to Dr. Belford and Dr. Decker for representing UT Southern with distinction.
