Pulaski, Tenn. — The University of Tennessee Southern has once again been recognized by U.S. News & World Report in its 2025 Best Colleges rankings, which highlight institutions that provide access, opportunity, and student success across the nation.
UT Southern is ranked among the Top Regional Colleges (South), tying for #54 overall. The university also earned recognition as one of the Top Public Schools in the region at #19, and is included in the list of Top Performers on Social Mobility at #75.
“These rankings reflect the continued progress of UT Southern as we fulfill our mission to serve Southern Middle Tennessee and the broader corridor between Nashville and Huntsville,” said UT Southern Chancellor, Melinda Arnold, PhD. “While numbers tell part of the story, the real measure of our success is the lives we transform—students who find their place here, achieve their goals, and go on to strengthen their communities.”
Since joining the UT System in 2021, UT Southern has been on a trajectory of growth and momentum, enrolling record numbers of students and investing in programs that expand access, opportunity, and workforce readiness. The university’s recognition in national rankings underscores its role as Tennessee’s newest UT campus, uniquely positioned to provide a personalized student experience while delivering broad impact across the region.
“Our focus will always be on building a strong future for our students and our communities,” Arnold said. “The rankings affirm that we are on the right path—strengthening enrollment, driving student success, and expanding our impact across the corridor we proudly serve.”
