UT Southern Announces Classroom Relocation During Johnston Center Renovation

PULASKI, Tenn. — As construction begins on the Johnston Center, the University of Tennessee Southern (UT Southern) has temporarily relocated all classes and offices previously housed in the building to ensure campus operations continue with minimal disruption. Classes formerly held in the Johnston Center will now meet in temporary modular classrooms located in a section of the student parking lot.

The renovation project will modernize the Johnston Center to create a more comfortable, student-centered learning environment. Planned improvements include updates to the Warden Library, upper-level classrooms, faculty offices and restrooms. Construction is expected to continue throughout the academic year, pending final timelines.

These renovations reflect UT Southern’s commitment to providing spaces where students, faculty and staff can learn, work and thrive. The reimagined Warden Library will offer an inviting environment that encourages learning, collaboration and connection, while updated classrooms and offices will better support the needs of the campus community.
