A Night About Recovery and Healing – Stories of Addiction
Sponsored by: “Stronger Together,” UT Southern’s new student peer support team led by Karlee Wright, president and wonderful State Certified Student Allies.
Program Description: Research shows that teens and young adults are particularly vulnerable to addiction, with family genetics increasing their risk fourfold. This highlights the need for public health interventions and community-based actions across college campuses. Join us for a panel discussion, “A Night About Recovery and Healing – Stories of Addiction,” where survivors will share their experiences, emphasizing that “If you can make it to age 25 without having an addiction, you are likely to remain addiction-free.” The program will also provide information on accessing local resources and support.
Facilitated by: Samantha McIntire, Director of Collegiate Recovery, TN Association of Mental Health Organizations, and Dr. G. Lea Bryant, UT Southern Wellness and Prevention Coordinator.
