Discover Music Camp

Join the UT Southern music faculty for a week of learning and music-making at our second annual Summer Music Camp! From beginners to experienced musicians, the UT Southern Summer Music Camp has a place for all who want to learn about music including classes in various music-related subjects and an ensemble experience culminating in a final performance. Open  to students from rising 7th-graders to rising high school seniors (ages 12-18), the camp includes:

  • Two performing ensembles: campers may choose to sing in the choir (open to all who are interested) or play in the jazz band (previous instrumental experience expected)
  • Classes in piano, music history, music theory, conducting, and more!
  • T-shirt, provided for the final performance and for the camper to keep!
  • Daily snacks
  • Affordable cost: only $100 for the week for each camper with a $25 discount for additional campers from the same family!

A typical camp day begins with two one-hour classes in the 10:00 and 11:00 hours. Multiple classes are offered in each hour-long block, so campers can choose which classes interest them the most! After a lunch break (lunch is NOT provided, campers should bring their own!), camp resumes with afternoon rehearsal blocks for the choir and jazz band ensembles. These two ensembles will prepare musical repertoire to be performed in Friday evening’s free public concert. Parents, that’s your chance to come see what your students have learned during the week!

We look forward to seeing you as part of the UT Southern Summer Music Camp! For additional information, contact Andrew Martin at amart204@utsouthern.edu. Meet Our Staff
