Avoiding Financial Aid Scams
Please be aware that student aid and student loan scammers target students. Don’t be a victim! Click here to find out how to identify student loan or student aid scams. If you are ever in doubt about a letter or email you receive about your loans, contact your student loan servicer. If you have any questions, please send the Financial Aid Office an email!
Families that File a Tax Extension
- You must submit IRS form 4868 or IRS approval to extend beyond October 15 deadline.
- W-2 for each source of employment income.
- Signed statement by a self-employed individual certifying amount of AGI & U.S. income tax paid.
- Once the taxes are filed, UT Southern requires the tax transcripts or IRS Data Retrieval Tool be submitted.
