Biography

Skylaur Poarch is an Academic Success Coach at the University of Tennessee Southern, where she supports students in developing effective academic strategies, navigating university resources, and achieving their educational goals. She works closely with students to promote academic success, persistence, and engagement while collaborating with faculty and staff to provide holistic support throughout the student experience.

Prior to serving as an Academic Success Coach, Skylaur held several student support roles at UT Southern, including advising and admissions, where she worked with dual enrollment students, international admissions, and data coordination. During a brief transition out of higher education, she was a high school chemistry teacher and served as Student Council Advisor and Yearbook Advisor, fostering student leadership, engagement, and academic growth. Her professional experience reflects a commitment to student success through relationship-building, communication, and personalized support.
